It would be fascinating if the world had taken another route, an alternate way, and had really been intelligent, a simple world, minimalist, with no tension, like the animals but with a lot of consciousness and wisdom, a strange reality for us now. A totally and absolutely different reality where nothing that we have today exists.

Minds would be cleaner and programmed to live in harmony. There would be no money, nor the need to work. There would be no professional careers, no attorneys, no one would need to defend themselves nor accuse another. There would be no doctors since the human body would be very healthy since the planet would be healthy. There would be nothing to protect ourselves against since our bodies would be perfectly developed. There would be no diseases nor mental illnesses.

Fears wouldn’t exist since everything would already be known. There wouldn’t be catastrophes since we would all be prepared for anything that would come. We would only live in safe places and there would be no overpopulation; order would be something that would be inherent to the human being.

Man would then have developed physical abilities and aptitudes like being able to climb, jump very high, or maybe even…..fly; the difference is, in our reality, something has gone wrong with the development of our bodies.

Take an ant for example, who is walking happily through the house and suddenly an earthquake, hurricane, or tornado occurs, there is a big chance that our little friend would survive and wouldn’t even notice what had happened. Man, on the other hand, is very vulnerable in such dangerous situations. Even a cat could save itself easier in these kind of situations with its agility and capability to climb, run quickly, and always land on its feet.

Our bodies should have been made with a different type of material that is more resistant and fits better with the world in which we live. Another even stranger alternative would be to live in a more smooth and soft world (a world made of cotton!)

We wouldn’t wear clothes, we wouldn’t have fashion to follow. There would be no stereotypes or archetypes, which would give us more peace. Maybe we could wear something to cover ourselves with, made of some unknown material with just one color….and everyone would wear the same thing, (sounds boring since we follow the rule of fashion nowadays). It’s a covering that we wouldn’t even have to put on, it would adhere to our bodies automatically and it would change it’s texture and quality depending on our needs (and it would look very modern!).

There wouldn’t be any traffic accidents, we would ride in spaceships equipped with instruments to avoid them. We would have a special covering, like a sphere around our bodies that would activate itself a few seconds before some type of danger arose. There would be no traffic rules, that is very obvious for the level of life that would be lead. There would be no stupid or superficial people, no one incapable of thinking deeply, there would be no space for them, it wouldn’t even be a possibility.

Imagine that technology would be so advanced and extremely minimalist that it would be so easy to use that it wouldn’t even seem as if it were technology, and the best part is that technology advances along with the evolution of man and not any faster. Communication would be different, there would really not be much to report or to know because all of the natural habitat would be simple and superior, not primitive, actually it would be so amazingly futuristic that everything that seems modern and cool to us now would be boring, complicated, and even stupid.

We wouldn’t need more of what we would have because everything would be enough and we would get things easily. There would be no need to invent something to resolve the problems from another invention.

There would be no internet nor social networking sites, remember there would be no money so people wouldn’t be trying to sell and promote something, nor would they be trying to contact you since it would be very easy to connect. Everyone would be willing to live in harmony and everybody would be kind (We finally wouldn’t have to open millions of accounts in every single new social networking site or service that shows up on the web!). It would also be easy to transport yourself from one place to another. There would be teleportation or doors to another dimension, not taking the conventional route….maybe we would control space and time in a distinct way.

There would be an enormous variety of entertainment and obviously it would be free….art would be fundamental in life; the bands and musicians would be all genuine. There would be no need to work promoting your musical production….it would be automatic and it would reach all of the specific people all over the world that have a taste for the musical style of that band. I imagine all communication going through the air, in a visual way. We could see the information floating in the air and it could draw our interest, like a hologram that is close to us that we can easily take……(that part I like a lot).

I just thought that we’ve all really screwed up…..

Imaginando Una Realidad Alterna e Ideal

Mientras estaba en mi cuarto escuchando algunos pajaritos pensaba que el mundo se equivoco hace mucho tiempo en su camino de desarrollo, los pájaros no tienen estrés ni muchas preocupaciones ni metas para alcanzar desesperadamente temiendo el fracaso…. y nosotros nos complicamos tanto porque somos los más “inteligentes” del planeta.

Pero sería fascinante si el mundo hubiera tomado otra ruta, un camino alterno  y hubiera sido inteligente de verdad; un mundo simple, minimalista, sin tensiones, al estilo animal pero con mucha consciencia y sabiduría, una realidad rara para nosotros ahora, una realidad total y absolutamente diferente donde no exista casi nada de lo que hay, donde la gente dure más y todo sea muy simple.

Las mentes están mas limpias y programadas para vivir en armonía, no existe el dinero, no hay necesidad de trabajar. No hay carreras profesionales, no hay abogados, nadie necesita defenderse ni acusar a otro, ni médicos porque el cuerpo humano  es muy saludable ya que el planeta es muy saludable, así que no hay mucho de que protegernos, nuestro organismo se desarrolla en forma perfecta y no existen enfermedades ni siquiera mentales.

Los temores no existen ya que todo se sabe y no existen catástrofes porque todos estan preparados para todo, solo se vive en lugares seguros y no hay una hiperpoblación, el orden es algo inherente al ser humano.

El ser humano entonces desarrolló habilidades y aptitudes físicas como la de trepar, dar enormes saltos e incluso o tal vez … volar; a diferencia de nuestra realidad donde algo pasó con su desarrollo corporal.

Imaginemos una hormiga, caminando feliz en la casa, de pronto ocurre un terremoto, huracán o tornado, hay muchas probabilidades que nuestra pequeña amiga sobreviva y ni siquiera se habrá dado cuenta de lo que pasó, en cambio el hombre es muy vulnerable a ciertas situaciones de peligro, aún un gato podría salvarse más facilmente en esas situaciones por su agilidad y capacidad de trepar, correr rapidamente, y caer en forma segura.

Deberíamos estar formados de un tipo de material más resistente que vaya de acuerdo a nuestro mundo, otra alternativa más rara aún sería que el mundo sea más blando y suave (un mundo de algodón!).

No usamos ropa, ni hay una moda que seguir porque no hay estereotipos ni arquetipos y eso nos da más paz, tal vez usamos una especie de cubierta de un material desconocido y de un solo color … y todos usan lo mismo, (suena aburrido porque seguimos los canones de la moda de nuestra época). Es una cubierta que ni siquiera tenemos que ponérnosla, se adhiere automáticamente a nuestro cuerpo y cambia de textura y calidad según nuestras necesidades (y se ve muy moderna!).

No hay accidentes de tráfico, usamos naves preparadas para eso y tenemos una cubierta especial, como una esfera alrededor de nuestro cuerpo que se activa segundos antes cuando existe algún tipo de peligro, no hay reglas de tránsito, eso es demasiado obvio para el nivel de vida. No hay gente de bajo nivel mental, superficial o incapaz de profundizar, no hay espacio para ellos, ni siquiera es una posibilidad.

Imagina que la tecnología es tan avanzada y de un minimalismo extremo que todo se hace muy fácil y ni siquiera parece tecnología, y lo mejor es que esta tecnología avanza a la par con la evolución humana y no más rápida. Las comunicaciones son diferentes, en realidad no hay mucho que informar ni conocer porque todo el hábitat natural es simple y superior, no primitivo, por el contrario es tan alucinantemente futurista que todo lo que nos parece moderno y cool ahora, en realidad es aburrido y complicado sin ninguna razón, sin ningún objetivo y más bien es tonto.

No necesitamos más de lo que tenemos porque todo es suficiente y todo se consigue fácil; no hay necesidad de inventar algo para solucionar las consecuencias de otro invento.

No hay internet ni redes sociales, recuerda que no hay dinero, entonces no hay gente tratando de vender y promocionar algo, ni tratando de contactarte, ya que las conecciones son muy fáciles, todos estan dispuestos a vivir en armonía y todos son amables, (y ya no tenemos que abrir millones de cuentas en cada nuevo social networking site o servicio que vaya apareciendo en la web!) además es facil transportarse de un lugar a otro, existe la teletransportación o puertas de viaje, no tomando la ruta convencional… tal vez nosotros manejamos el espacio y tiempo de una forma distinta.

El entretenimiento es de una variedad enorme y gratis obviamente, el arte es algo fundamental en la existencia; las bandas, los músicos son genuinos y no hay necesidad de trabajar promocionando el album…. el material musical llega de forma automática a específicas personas en todo el mundo que tienen gustos afines a la música de la banda, me imagino las comunicaciones en el aire, pero de forma visual o algo así, uno ve que hay una información que nos interesa y esta en el aire, como un holograma cerca a nosotros y la tomamos facilmente… (esta parte me gusta mucho).

Solo pensaba por qué nos equivocamos tanto…

In the beginning, I thought it was a post limit size issue because when I tried to add the Spanish version in the same post where I put the English version, almost all the words in Spanish got deleted.

The problem was that the website was using charset iso-8859-1, so I had to change it to UTF-8 and it worked fine.

Now the only thing was a little problem with the pages that I had made using custom templates, where there were some lyrics in Spanish. There were some kind of weird symbols on the words with the accents like “á” and “ñ” ( it’s so annoying to add so many accents using a mac, since it doesn’t have those keys! ).

To solve that problem, I had to make those pages in Wordpress, since it seems to recognize all of the symbols used in Spanish words. Another way that I could have done it would have been to use strange symbols like á (á) é (é)  ñ (ñ) for the words with accent marks on the pages that I made as templates so that the words would look normal……way too tedious…

Símbolos y Acentos en Español en Wordpress

Hace varios días que quería poner posts en Inglés y Castellano, pero no podía hacerlo por alguna razón que no podía ver.

Al comienzo pensé que era una cuestión de limite de carácteres en los posts, porque cuando agregaba la versión en castellano en el mismo post donde había escrito en inglés primero, siempre se borraba casi todo el texto, solo quedaban unas cuantas palabras en castellano.

El problema era que estaba usando charset iso-8859-1, así que tuve que cambiarlo a utf-8 y todo resuelto.

Bueno casi todo, porque tenía páginas que había hecho aparte usando templates que había creado para hacer algunas letras de canciones pero ahora eso aparecía con extraños símbolos en las palabras con acentos y “ñ” ( qué aburrido es poner tantos acentos cuando la mac no tiene esas teclas! ).

La solución a eso fue hacer esas páginas dentro de wordpress, ya que parece que ahí si reconoce todos los signos usados en español, de otra manera hubiera tenido que cambiar las palabras que tenian acentos en las páginas, con símbolos raros como á (á) é (é)  ñ (ñ)…. para que se vea normal…. algo insoportable…

Podcasts Para Practicar Inglés

Para los que quieren practicar Inglés, les sugiero visitar http://www.blabbinit.com, un website con varios podcasts hablados en inglés americano, los cuales incluyen el texto correspondiente al podcast específico para un mejor entendimiento al escucharlos. Además se escuchan unos extractos de un par de mis canciones al comenzar y al finalizar los podcasts.

One example of this is an album that David Lee Roth did in 1986 “Eat ‘Em and Smile“. He later made a Spanish version “Sonrisa Salvaje“. Sting also did something similar with “...Nothing Like the Sun” in 1987, although he did not do a complete version of the album in Spanish. The mini version that he made in Spanish, and also in Portuguese, was called “Nada como el Sol“.

Other than these albums, I have only seen a few musicians or singers that have recorded an album in one language and then later have made another version in another language, but the albums do not contain the exact same songs. Generally, the version that is made in the other language has some different songs that are recorded only in that specific language, or they make one album in both languages, including songs in English and Spanish that are not necessarily the same.

I hope to find more information about these kind of albums, if there are any….

Albums Hechos en 2 Versiones Inglés y Español

Como estoy haciendo un disco con 2 versiones, o 2 albums, uno en ingles y otro en castellano, he estado buscando artistas que hayan hecho algo así, un album en inglés y despues una versión del mismo album en castellano o viceversa, pero no he encontrado mucho de eso exactamente.

Un ejemplo de esto es el album que hizo David Lee Roth en 1986 “Eat ‘Em and Smile” y después la version completa en castellano “Sonrisa Salvaje“. También algo parecido con Sting aunque no una versión completa en castellano del album “…Nothing Like the Sun” de 1987 la mini versión que incluyo canciones en castellano y portugues fue “Nada como el sol“.

Aparte de eso solo he visto algunos músicos o cantantes que han grabado un album en un idioma y despues hacen una versión en el otro pero no conteniendo exactamente las mismas canciones, generalmente la versión en el otro idioma tiene algunas canciones diferentes que son grabadas solo en ese idioma o hacen un album en ambos idiomas, incluyendo canciones en inglés y castellano que no necesariamente son las mismas.

Espero encontrar mas informacion sobre ese tipo de discos, si es que hay…

Maybe all of the ideas for the arrangements are very good, but when they are all together, it is hard to make one sound prevail over all of the other sounds. It is like every arrangement represents a different sensation and sometimes they only last a few seconds, but they cannot all be together at the same time. One option would be to make about 10 different versions of the same song with different arrangements…..impossible…these are very important moments of decision….these are moments of indecision.

Also in this album, there are songs that I have recorded very quickly and where I felt that I had all of the arrangements in my mind, even including which type of instrument and sound I would use. This is another period of indecision for me, how to choose the sounds, especially when you have thousands of sounds to choose from and the sensation that you want to project is very abstract.

Decisiones en los Arreglos

Algunas veces en este proceso de hacer el disco, una canción puede tomarme mucho tiempo en grabar, arreglar, editar, mezclar, producir, etc. como fue el caso de Transition, fue una de las primeras en grabar y durante toda la etapa de grabación de las otras canciones siempre encontraba cosas para agregar o cambiar en esa canción, a veces puede ser un defecto querer hacer muchos arreglos, ser muy perfeccionista, o tratar de incluir todas las ideas que tienes y piensas que pueden ir bien en una misma canción, al final uno tiene que descartar muchas ideas y arreglos; lo mas importante es tratar de acomodar todas las ideas buenas que son necesarias en los lugares exactos y precisos, sin atiborrar de sonidos porque se puede perder la esencia.

Tal vez todas las ideas de arreglos son muy buenas, pero cuando estan todas juntas es difícil que una prevalezca sobre la otra, es como que cada arreglo representaba una sensación diferente que a veces duran muy pocos segundos pero no pueden estar todos a la vez; una opción seria hacer como 10 versiones diferente de esa canción con diferentes arreglos… imposible… son momentos muy importantes de decisión, son momentos muy indecisos….

Pero también en este album he grabado canciones muy rapidamente y donde sentía que ya tenia todos los arreglos en la mente, incluyendo el tipo de instrumento y sonido, esa es otra etapa de mucha indecisión para mi, la elección del sonido, sobre todo cuando tienes mil sonidos para elegir y la idea de la sensación que quieres proyectar es muy abstracta.

I think this CD is going to be really eclectic. There are a couple of songs that have an acoustic sound and are even a little bucolic. There are others that have a lot of electronic elements. I created some of the songs a few years ago while others are very new. I have put special interest on vocal arrangements and also on harmonies. There are some songs that have quite a few different parts which make them not very commercial, I think ( well, I did what I could).

To add even more eclecticism to this record, each song will have 2 different versions: English and Spanish. This makes the process harder and slower, but I think the product will be very interesting. Since most of the songs were first composed in Spanish, trying to translate from Spanish to English was very complicated, but it is part of the adventure. I will be explaining more about this later.
